Who Are We Looking For?

 

We are seeking a number of mid and senior developers to work closely with the latest technologies and most progressive broadcasters to push the perceived boundaries of Rust, Node.js, JavaScript and process Gbps of live streaming media data.

 

As an experienced developer, you will be responsible for working collaboratively to design, develop, and maintain our high-performance and scalable real-time media processing software. You will work closely within the team to build new features, optimise performance, and fix any issues we discover as well as sharing your knowledge and helping to strengthen the team. 

 

We are looking for developers who love to work as part of a close collaborative team, are extremely self-motivated, take pride in managing their own personal deadlines, and thrive on solving the big challenges. 

 

The role is a Hybrid so will be a mix of remote working and time in our Bracknell office.

The Role

 

  • Develop and progress features for our next-generation real-time media transport, processing, and monitoring software.
  • Maintain our existing internal and production software products.
  • Work within a collaborative Agile framework and participate in daily team prioritisation and organisation, often changing priorities at short notice.
  • Review other team members’ code contributions within an Agile development framework, giving feedback, and building and sharing knowledge.
  • An opportunity to work with our technical colleagues within some of the world’s major broadcasters contributing to business-critical live broadcasts.

 

Essential.  To be successful in the role you will need to:

  • Demonstrate a high level of competence with Rust, or JavaScript (Node.js). (or C++ in lieu of Rust but with a willingness to develop Rust skills)
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of media formats.
  • Demonstrable Developer experience contributing to or deeply integrating with at least one commercial or open-source processing software’s such as FFMPEG, GStreamer, Upipe, x264, or other commercial libraries from companies such as Main Concept, Intopix, Fraunhofer or Dolby.
  • Experience with source control and collaboration through Git.
  • Experience with Linux (CentOS/Linux).
  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK.

 

 

Any of the Following is a Bonus

  • High level of competence with Rust OR  JavaScript OR Bash scripting.
  • Deep knowledge of real-time media transport such as SMPTE’s ST2022 suite of specifications.
  • Flexibility to adapt to new techniques and languages at short notices.
  • Knowledge of networking, UDP, RTP, Multicast and Unicast.
  • Good knowledge of Swift or Python
  • Experience or desire to help the team grow and strengthen.
